An old Crow perches on a post that could have been his own for decades,
taking his time so as not to betray his food stash to an intruding flock
of Crows , otherwise known as a Storytelling or Murder of Crows, sifts
through the snow. Crows, or corvids, are the most intelligent birds,
and rather long lived. An individual reached 59 years old, and plenty
reach 40-50. I doubt if many reach these ages in the wild though, if
anything that's too much time for a shotgun to get them! I'm quite fond
of them, we have a long term nest here in my central London courtyard,
each year there's comical fledglings at our doors.
