Robin I rarely painted modern abstract pictures when I did this in about 2002 , but this one has been done in a few forms. It sold as the paint was drying just about! It celebrates the robins role as our national bird, as it has been since 1961 when the British section of the International Council for Bird Preservation were given the task of selection. Much help from correspondence in The Times newspaper had them choose the Robin , which in Britain is uniquely a bold garden bird, elsewhere a much more shy woodland one. Acrylic on canvas 3 x 2 ft
